Provincial Government of Palawan Agrees to Supply PCA Salt Fertilizers

Aimed at intensifying the Salt Fertilization Program (SFP) of the Philippine Coconut Authority (PCA) and promoting/strengthening partnership with Local Government Units (LGUs) in advancing the status of the coconut industry, a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was forged last March 20, 2014 between PCA and the Provincial Government of Palawan (PGP) represented by its Governor, Jose C. Alvarez.

PCA Pursues Development of Coir Industry

The Philippine Coconut Authority will pursue the development of the Coco Coir industry at the countryside. It will start by initially deploying manually−operated twinning machine to interested Coconut Farmer Organizations (CFO) and simultaneously putting up a tufting facility. PCA Notes Decline In Cadang−Cadang Disease Incidence

The 2012 result of the Cadang−cadang disease surveillance conducted by the Philippine Coconut Authority − Albay Research Center (PCA-ARC) through a survey questionnaire revealed that disease incidence in all provinces of Region V, Samar Provinces and Biliran in Region VIII, and parts of Quezon in Region IV−A declined tremendously to less than 3% of coconut in bearing stage or equivalent to approximately 700,000 diseased palms, from the old data of approximately 30 million infected palms.

PCA to Launch On-Road Test of 5% Biofuel Blend

With the approval of the National Biofuels Board (NBB) to increase the mandated biodiesel blend from 2% to 5%, the Philippine Coconut Authority (PCA), in collaboration with the University of the Philippines − National Center for Transportation Studies (UP−NCTS), is now set to launch its on−road test of (B5) in public transport vehicles to be held on Tuesday, July 30, 2013.

PCA gears up for its massive scale control in CALABARZON
